V Codes, Part 2

Last month's column provided some information about V codes (V01.0–V84.8) from Chapter 18 “Supplementary Classification of Factors Influencing Health Status and Contact with Health Service” of the ICD-9-CM codes. They are for use when encounters for circumstances other than a disease or injury are recorded as a diagnosis or problem.
